Fictive universes always belonged to my life be it in the form of movies, TV shows, books or (video) games. I started playing video games very early on since the age of 4 not knowing what I was doing. But it was enjoying being able to move around in a world without needing to fear death. Later on I understood more of the stories this type of media told and I enjoyed it even more.
These days I mostly enjoy either some kind of competitive play or role-play games telling a story. My favorite games are the Tomb Raider Survivor trilogy, the Life is Strange games, some selected Star Wars titles and the lore to League of Legends. Of course there are more which are too many to list here.
Also very young, I started watching movies which my Dad got me. Back then mostly child-friendly Disney, Pixar or DreamWorks movies such as the Lion King or Monsters Inc.. Nowadays, I rarely watch movies. I just rewatch my favorites every now and then. My favorite movies are Star Wars (of course without the sequel trilogy), the Batman movies (including the Joker) and some others. If I watch a new movie these days then they either cinematographically very intricate or have a very deep storyline.
One difference in TV shows I enjoy over movies is the length. The extended amount of time is usually used to display character development which I appreciate a lot. Similar to movies I enjoy deeper stories. Thus my favorite TV shows are Breaking Bad, La Casa de Papel, Viking, Game of Thrones and there are many more I want to mention.
In my youth, reading was homework. Something I had to do for school. But there was one day where my German teacher took us to the library and told us to pick a book and read. I found Brainjack by Brian Falkner. Of course I couldn't read the entire book in 45 minutes so I ordered it later and inhaled a 400 page book in 4 days.
These days, I mostly read fantasy books such as content from the Star Wars universe or other things I get recommended. I also enjoy classics with deep stories such as The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald or Lieutenant Gustl by Arthur Schnitzler. Nowadays, I also appreciate older books and texts we had to read in German class due to its intricate writing and the thoughts put into them.
A list of my favorite fictive universes:
• A Galaxy far far away (Star Wars)
• Runeterra (League of Legends)
• Forgotten Realms (Dungeons & Dragons)
• Westeros (Game of Thrones)
• Gotham (Batman)
• Arcadia Bay (Life is Strange)
